Connecting the hosted Patchworks MCP to ChatGPT
Introduction
Connecting ChatGPT to the hosted Patchworks MCP server is straightforward - all required setup can be completed from within the ChatGPT browser interface.
An MCP server added via the ChatGPT browser will also be available in the ChatGPT client.

A ChatGPT Pro account (or higher) is required to connect remote MCP servers.
To connect the Patchworks MCP, you add a
custom appin ChatGPT's settings. This guide walks through these steps using a standard Pro plan - if you have a different subscription, the navigation paths detailed here may vary.In ChatGPT, developer mode must be enabled before custom apps can be added. To do this, open ChatGPT and navigate to
settings➤apps➤advanced settings. Here, thedeveloper modetoggle option must beON. For example:

The steps
Prepare credentials
Ensure that your Patchworks MCP key is to hand, ready to copy/paste later in this stage.
Access ChatGPT apps
Launch ChatGPT in your browser, then access settings. For example:

Add a new app
Click the create app button:

If you don't see this option, it's likely that developer mode is not enabled - you must enable this first.
Configure the app
Enter details for this app, including the MCP server URL and authentication:

Name
Enter your preferred name for the Patchworks MCP server.
Description
Optionally, enter descriptive text for this MCP server.
MCP server URL
https://mcp.wearepatchworks.com/api/v1/mcp
Authentication
Leave set to OAuth.
OAuth Client ID
Paste in your Patchworks MCP key.
OAuth Client Secret
Not required.
Create the app
Acknowledge the ChatGPT risk warning and click the create button to add this app and connect to the remote Patchworks MCP server. For example:

Test the connection
Start a new chat in ChatGPT and enter a request to confirm that the connection is working. For example: Get all my process flows:

If you experience connection issues, make sure that your MCP key is correct and/or that a Patchworks MCP server is deployed.
