# Registering for a Patchworks account

## Introduction

After registering for a Patchworks account, a dashboard instance is created using the provided information, with full access on a 14-day trial.

## What happens next?

Following your meeting with the Patchworks Sales team, a [trial account](https://doc.wearepatchworks.com/product-documentation/getting-started/core-subscription-tiers) will be created and you'll receive sign-in details via the email address provided. By default, this will be an [admin account](https://doc.wearepatchworks.com/product-documentation/users-roles-and-permissions/roles-and-permissions-summary).&#x20;

Within Patchworks, user accounts are associated with a role. This role determines the level of access that users have within the Patchworks dashboard (subject to the active [subscription tier](https://doc.wearepatchworks.com/product-documentation/getting-started/core-subscription-tiers)).
